Labor/Employment Litigation

Our attorneys defend employment matters in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Commission on Human Rights. Our experience includes breach of employment contracts, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, retaliation, government compliance, Title VII and Texas Labor Code issues (race, age, national origin, sex {including sexual harassment}, religion, and disability) and general employer/employee relations disputes. We have experience with additional federal employment statutes such as the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Lilly Ledbetter Act, just to name a few. Our litigation experience includes the defense of individual as well as class action claims.

Our team provides general advice and counsel to aid clients in the development of practices to reduce potential litigation. We develop and/or revise employment handbooks and other employment policies and procedures. Upon request, our attorneys conduct investigations when employees raise Title VII claims.

The Labor and Employment Litigation practice group has extensive experience in traditional labor issues representing management regarding issues such as terminations, suspensions, job abolishment issues, downsizing concerns and contractual language interpretation of various collective bargaining agreements. Attorneys have participated in numerous arbitration proceedings as well as proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
